Explora Journeys just rolled out something new that fans of the brand will probably appreciate. The luxury cruise line has officially launched a referral program called The Gift of Sharing, and it is exactly what it sounds like. If you already enjoy sailing with Explora, you can now invite friends or family to join you and both sides get rewarded once that first sailing is complete.
This is Explora leaning into word of mouth advertising which makes sense. People who have already sailed Explora are usually the ones doing the recommending anyway. Now there’s something in it for both the person doing the referring and the person booking their first voyage.
What Is “The Gift of Sharing”?
The Gift of Sharing is a referral program available to Explora Club members. Explora Club is the cruise line’s loyalty program and membership is automatic after your first voyage.
Once you are logged into your My Explora account, you will find a dedicated referral section where you can grab a personal referral link.

Share that link with someone who has never sailed Explora Journeys before. If they book their first journey using that link and actually sail, both of you earn rewards.
How the Referral Program Works
Getting started is easy and everything is handled inside your existing Explora account.
- Log in to Explora Journeys’ website
- Click on My Account
- Click on Explora Club
- Click on the Explora Club Referral Programme button
- Access your unique referral link
- Share the link with friends or family who have never sailed Explora

Once they book and complete their first journey, rewards are issued automatically
There is nothing extra you need to track manually. Explora handles everything on the back end.
What the Referred Guest Gets
If someone uses your referral link to book their first Explora Journeys sailing, they receive:
- 200 Future Journey Credits that can be applied toward their first booking
- 500 Explora Club points after completing their voyage
- It is a nice welcome incentive and a head start in the Explora Club loyalty program.
What the Referring Member Gets
The referring Explora Club member is rewarded once the referred guest completes their journey.
- 200 Future Journey Credits
- 500 Explora Club points
- If you refer multiple people, those credits and points can start stacking up quickly, especially if you already have future sailings in mind.
Referral Limits and Fine Print
There are a few rules worth knowing, but nothing out of the ordinary.
- Each referred guest can only receive the referral benefit once, on their first Explora booking
- Referring members can earn rewards for up to 10 new guests per calendar year
- You can share your referral link with as many people as you want, but only the first 10 completed referrals each year generate rewards
How Future Journey Credits Can Be Used
Future Journey Credits have some built-in limits to keep things balanced.
- Referred guests can apply one set of 200 credits toward their first booking
- Referring members can apply up to 600 credits per booking, allowing multiple referral rewards to be stacked
- Any unused credits stay in your account for future sailings
One important note: Future Journey Credits from the referring guest and the referred guest cannot be combined on the same reservation, but you can absolutely sail together on the same journey.
Future Journey Credit Values by Currency
Future Journey Credits are issued based on your region. For U.S. residents, 200 Future Journey Credits = $250 USD
Other currency equivalents include:
- 200 EUR
- 300 CAD
- 200 CHF
- 1,000 BRL
- 30,000 JPY
- 1,500 CNY
- 350 AUD
- 400 NZD
If you need your credits issued in a different currency, Explora says you can contact the Explora Experience Centre to request a change.
For new guests, it adds a little extra incentive to finally pull the trigger on that first sailing. For returning guests, it is a tangible thank you for spreading the word.
If you are already an Explora Club member, it is worth logging into your account and grabbing your referral link. And if you have friends who are Explora curious, this might be the nudge they need to book their first voyage.
