Holland America Zuiderdam 11-Day Panama Canal Cruise Review

The Holland America Zuiderdam is a cruise ship that is part of the Vista-class of ships operated by Holland America Line. The ship was launched in December 2002 and has since undergone several renovations and updates, including a major refurbishment in 2018.

The Zuiderdam is 935 feet (285 meters) long and 106 feet (32 meters) wide, with a gross tonnage of 82,305. It can accommodate up to 1,916 passengers in its 958 staterooms, as well as a crew of 817.

The ship is powered by six diesel-electric engines, which produce a total of 63,200 horsepower, and has a cruising speed of 24 knots. It is equipped with stabilizers to help reduce the effects of rough seas.

The Zuiderdam features a variety of amenities and facilities, including several restaurants, bars and lounges, a casino, a theater, a spa, a fitness center, and a pool. The ship also has a range of activities and entertainment options, such as live music, dance classes, cooking demonstrations, and games.

The ship’s design incorporates elements of the Dutch heritage of Holland America Line, including artwork and decor inspired by the Dutch Golden Age. The Zuiderdam also features a number of environmentally-friendly features, such as LED lighting, low-flow showerheads, and a water treatment system that recycles wastewater.
