MSC Cruises Casino Program Overview

MSC Cruises offers a casino program that rewards players based on the points they accumulate during their time at sea. These points are earned through gameplay in the ship’s casinos, which feature a variety of gaming options including slot machines, table games, and more. The points you earn can be used to access discounts, free upgrades, and even free cruises, depending on how much you play.

The program is structured with several tiers of rewards based on the number of points you accumulate, ranging from basic discounts to luxurious suite upgrades and all-inclusive packages.

How to Earn MSC Casino Points

So, how do you rack up those points on MSC? It’s pretty straightforward: you earn points by playing your favorite casino games. While cruise lines don’t always share their exact point calculations, for MSC, you generally earn 1 point for every $3 cycled through a slot machine. “Cycled” or “coin-in” refers to every dollar that goes through the machine, including both cash and winnings. To give you some context, Royal Caribbean typically requires $5 coin-in for 1 point, while Carnival Corporation brands, like Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America, usually give you 1 point for every $2.50 coin-in. For table games, points are typically based on the amount you bet and the length of time you play. The more you play, the more points you earn. It’s as simple as that.

Earning Free Play Between Levels

Once you’ve reached a free cruise certificate, you’ll earn $50 in free play for every additional 1,000 Dream Points until you hit the next stateroom category. At that point the free play resets to zero and starts building again.

How to Redeem Your MSC Casino Rewards

Once you’ve accumulated enough points, cashing in on your rewards is a breeze. Just swing by the casino rewards desk on board, and the friendly staff will help you out. Whether you’re looking to book a future cruise, upgrade your stateroom, or just grab a discount, they’ve got you covered.

One thing to keep in mind: while discounts are great, they generally don’t apply to MSC Yacht Club bookings unless specified. So, it’s always a good idea to double-check the fine print or ask a casino staff member if you’re unsure.

Make sure to check your points balance before the end of your cruise and redeem any rewards you’re eligible for. Some rewards might need to be used during the cruise, so don’t leave it until the last minute.

MSC vs. Other Cruise Line Casino Programs

MSC’s $3 per point earn rate sits between Royal Caribbean’s $5 and the roughly $2.50 at Carnival Corporation brands, while Virgin Voyages also asks for $5 per point on slots. If you play on more than one line, here’s how the other programs work:

We are platinum level on carnival cruise and other cruise lines. Can we use our rating to get msc casino perks. Usually we get free balcony, free drinks, casino cash, etc.

    1. Your loyalty status and casino play are not connected. However, if you never sailed on MSC before, they will do a loyalty status match. For casino offers, I am not aware of MSC themselves doing matching offers, however, you can submit your competitive offers to URComped.com which will get you a comparable offer for MSC.

  2. Seems MSC has a rather high threshold to earn comp cruises relative to other cruise lines. Particularly Royal Caribbean where you can earn a comped inside with about 1250-2000 points, while with MSC it’s 5000-10000 points. That more than offsets the higher earning rate on slots. Does MSC generally rate table play higher than the standard 1 point per dollar wagered per hour?

I say that as a craps player betting $110 inside. (Ignoring any win/loss rate) I can earn a comp inside on Royal with about 10-20 hours at the table. At the same earning rate, it’d be about 50-100 hours on MSC which probably far exceeds the hours the craps table is even open, let alone how much time I’d want to spend at the table.
