On my 7-day western Caribbean cruise on Carnival Celebration, I booked a “guarantee” balcony stateroom.  Guarantee staterooms are assigned by the cruise line a few weeks or days before departure.  If you don’t have a preference for where you want your stateroom to be on the ship, choosing a guarantee can save you a couple of bucks.

I was assigned Stateroom 12254, a category 8D balcony stateroom, on deck 12 forward.  The room measures 205 sq. feet with a 44 sq. foot balcony.  Inside, there are two twin beds that convert to a king, a pull-out sofa, large flat-screen TV, a telephone, USB ports on the desk area and on the bedside reading lights, a safe, a mini bar, and other amenities.

Out on the balcony, you’ll find two chairs and a table with plenty of room to move around and a full view of the ocean through the glass panels.

As I walk you through the stateroom, I’ll point out the various storage options – and there are plenty! – the bathroom, where you can find outlets to plug in your devices, and some of the other features of this well laid out balcony stateroom.

Overall, Carnival Celebration Stateroom 12254 is a great room close to the front of the ship and just three decks below the pool area and buffet.  For guests who want a private balcony stateroom on their cruise vacation, this is a great option.
