At the end of each evening when a ship is visiting MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve in the Bahamas, guests are treated to a light show on the island’s iconic lighthouse. I filmed this one on April 18, 2025, from MSC World America during her inaugural voyage.

The music from the show wasn’t audible from the ship, so I added music to the video.
Key Takeaways
- The lighthouse show happens at the end of each evening while a ship is at Ocean Cay.
- This is the full show as seen from MSC World America on her inaugural voyage.
- The music you hear was added afterward, since the show’s own music couldn’t be heard on board.
Good to Know
MSC ships usually dock at Ocean Cay the same way, with the starboard side against the pier and the bow pointed toward the lighthouse. If you’re on the starboard side, you may be able to watch the show from your own balcony.
That’s not guaranteed, though. Weather, tides, operational changes and ship maintenance can turn the ship around, so I wouldn’t pay extra for a cabin just for the lighthouse show. Think of it as a bonus if it works out, and you can always head up to an open deck to watch it.
