The gingerbread house display went up on Holland America’s Rotterdam on December 1, 2025, while I was on board for a Southern Caribbean cruise, so I grabbed a quick video of it. It smells as good as it looks, by the way. Great job to the pastry team on a beautiful display.

Good to Know
Holland America’s culinary teams build gingerbread villages for the holidays, and each ship creates its own design. There are hours of planning, baking and assembly behind every one.
If you’re sailing over the holidays, it’s worth slowing down to take a look. It’s easy to walk past a display like this on your way to dinner, but there’s a lot of work tucked into those little buildings and edible details.
