Carnival Cruise Line is taking the youth experience to new heights with the introduction of an expanded youth program on Carnival Celebration, featuring new enrichment activities for children, teens, and families, as well as an updated version of the popular Dr. Seuss Bookville. The updates are expected to be implemented fleetwide by spring 2023.
Melissa Mahaffey, Director of Youth Experience for Carnival Cruise Line, said, “We’re committed to ensuring our young cruisers have an amazing time aboard our ships. The new additions to our youth programming are already a hit on Carnival Celebration, and I can’t wait to share them with families sailing with us across our fleet.”
Carnival Celebration is offering the most comprehensive set of activities yet for children under the age of two, with the introduction of the new Turtles program. This new program includes special activities such as Turtle Playdates, Turtle Band, toddler sensory activities, and the Baby Turtle Trek – an interactive event that teaches toddlers about sea turtle conservation. Additionally, the program offers designated drop-off times in Camp Ocean and late-night babysitting services.
The Nautical Explorer program, designed for children in Camp Ocean, is another exciting opportunity for children to learn about the maritime world through fun and educational activities. Children will be able to design their own giant cruise ship, learn about nautical flags, use a compass, and meet a ship’s officer.
Dr. Seuss Bookville, a beloved activity for young cruisers, has received a makeover to make it even more interactive and engaging. Iconic characters such as Thing One and Thing Two, The Cat in the Hat, and Sam-I-Am will come to life, helping families put on their very own circus, conduct science experiments, and hunt for green eggs. Dr. Seuss Bookville can be found on Carnival Celebration, Mardi Gras, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Panorama, and Carnival Vista.
Teen cruisers will be able to immerse themselves in cultural experiences through new enrichment activities on Carnival Celebration. Building on the successful Holi Festival of Colors enrichment on Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration will introduce a cultural program inspired by the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan. Younger teens (ages 12-14) can participate in activities like anime drawing lessons and pop culture games, while teens aged 15-17 can enjoy an authentic tea ceremony, Japanese crafts, and games to make new friends at Club O2. Similar programs for teens will be offered fleetwide by spring 2023.
In addition to the expanded youth activities, Carnival Celebration also includes a children’s space program in partnership with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, bringing NASA science-inspired activities on board. The ship also features a top-deck roller coaster, a suspended ropes course, and a massive water park with three slides, as well as a new, interactive family show, “What’s Age Got to Do with It?”
Carnival Cruise Line is dedicated to providing a fun and exciting experience for all ages, and the expanded youth program on Carnival Celebration is a testament to that commitment. Get ready for a family vacation that’s out of this world!
