Exciting news for cruise fans in Central Florida as Carnival Cruise Line is gearing up to introduce their new ship, Carnival Venezia, packed with ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style’ experiences, to their Port Canaveral lineup and booking are now open.

Beginning winter of 2024-25, Carnival Venezia will depart from Port Canaveral, Florida, providing a much-needed winter escape for Northeasterners. After its winter stint, it’ll head back to New York in spring 2025.

Christine Duffy, the president of Carnival Cruise Line said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce our signature fun to more guests and add another dynamic offering to one of our most popular homeports.”

With the seasonal operation of Carnival Venezia, Port Canaveral now features five vessels, providing even more cruising options for Carnival guests.

The journey begins with Carnival Venezia departing from New York on a 12-Day Southern Caribbean cruise on Dec. 6, 2024. The ship will visit destinations like St. Thomas, St. Croix, Aruba, Curacao, and Grand Turk before arriving at Port Canaveral on Dec. 18, 2024.

On the same day, the ship will set sail on a four-day Bahamas cruise, visiting Nassau and Freeport, to kick off its winter series. The ship’s itinerary also includes 15 seven-day cruises, visiting a variety of popular destinations, and two special 14-day Carnival Journeys cruises. After its winter deployment in Florida, the ship will return to New York in spring 2025.

In addition, Carnival Venezia will be offering a selection of week-long sailings from Port Canaveral, including Exotic Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises. More details and sailing options from Port Canaveral are available on the Carnival’s website.

Carnival Venezia isn’t just any cruise ship. It boasts an Italian design and is currently undergoing enhancements in Spain. The ship will be the first to showcase the ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style’ experience, with influences from the ship’s Italian design found throughout the vessel. However, guests can still expect to find their Carnival favorites onboard, including Guy Fieri’s Guy’s Burger Joint, the steakhouse Fahrenheit 555, and Bonsai Sushi & Teppanyaki, among others.

Carnival Venezia's Lido deck is modeled after the Italian Riviera that boasts a retractable roof, so the pool can still be enjoyed when the ship departs and returns to New York in colder months.

An exciting new addition to the ship is the specialty restaurant, “Il Viaggio,” offering a menu that showcases the dishes and drinks from various regions of Italy. As expected from Carnival, high-energy entertainment is a given, with several Playlist Production shows and special programming developed for children and families onboard Carnival Venezia.

Cruisers should definitely keep an eye out for Carnival Venezia as it promises to deliver a memorable Italian-style cruising experience.
