Holland America Zuiderdam Lido Deck 9 Tour

Key Takeaways

• The Sea View Pool at the aft has a hot tub and great views of the ship’s wake.
• One side of the Sea View Pool is the designated smoking area, and it’s the only spot on the entire ship where you can smoke.
• The Sea View Bar crew will walk around and take your drink orders, or you can sit right at the bar.
• The Lido Market is the ship’s buffet, with floor to ceiling windows so you can see the world around you.
• Most of the buffet isn’t self service: they’ll make your salad and your tacos, and at breakfast they scoop the eggs, make the omelets and hand you the bacon.
• Canaletto, the ship’s Italian restaurant, is carved out of a small section of the Lido and is available for an upcharge.
• The Dive In by the Lido Pool serves burgers, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches, complete with French fries.
• The Lido Pool has a retractable roof, so they can close it up when the weather turns.

Good to Know

If you smoke, this is the deck you need to know. The casino on Zuiderdam is completely nonsmoking, so half of the Sea View Pool area is the only place onboard where smoking is allowed. If smoke bothers you, just grab a seat on the other side.

The Sea View Pool is a great spot to grab some food from the Lido, have your lunch outside and enjoy the good weather. And I really like that most of the Lido Market is served by the crew, so you don’t have to touch most of the utensils.

When I filmed, the orange pennants were up around the Lido Pool because it was Orange Party night. Thanks to that retractable roof, the Lido Pool works whether you’re cruising somewhere chilly or the weather just gets a little nasty.
