Right now, the Costa Maya port welcomes about 2 million passengers a year, but Royal Caribbean is planning to boost those numbers to 5 million by the early 2030s. And with room for up to four cruise ships to dock at once, compared to CocoCay’s two, Perfect Day Mexico will be a gamechanger in the region.
Royal Caribbean maintains berthing agreements with other cruise lines will remain unchanged, so non-Royal Caribbean vessels will continue to make calls to Costa Maya, however, Perfect Day will remain a perk available only to Royal Caribbean passengers.
