Disney Cruise Line provided a sneak peek at what the line’s new cruise ships will look like when they enter service in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The line released the first rendering of the ships, and like the vessels in the current fleet, they carry over the same majestic look like invokes cruise liners of the past.
As previously announced, the three new ships will be 140,000 gross tons and will feature 1,250 staterooms making them larger than the largest ships in the fleet today – the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream. Like most of the new ships being built today, they will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) one of the cleanest burning fuels available.
Cruise lines are very tight-lipped about what features new builds will have on them, and this latest announcement didn’t provide any further insight other than a look at what we can expect the ship’s exterior to look like. Although the Disney Parks Blog, did tip their hand just a tad:
On our new ships, we will bring Disney’s iconic stories and franchises to life in thrilling and surprising ways, building on the creativity we’ve introduced across our existing fleet. Just over the past several years we have added innovations such as Marvel and Star Wars themed spaces in our kids’ clubs…dazzling stage shows like “Beauty and the Beast” that are unrivaled in their originality and visual presentation…and an entirely new genre of dining experience combining live entertainment, storytelling and interactive moments at our Tiana’s Place and Rapunzel’s Royal Table restaurants.
