Celebrating a Century of Cunard Magic: Dive into the Sea Views Exhibition

Luxury cruise line Cunard is celebrating a century of luxury, magic, and memories with their new Sea Views Exhibition, and it’s absolutely amazing! The exhibition is curated by none other than the talented British photographer and filmmaker, Mary McCartney.

Mary McCartney says the exhibition is not only about showcasing Cunard’s history but also celebrating the millions of travelers who have had unforgettable adventures on their voyages.

This exhibition is extra special as it marks two major milestones for Cunard. First, it’s been over 100 years since they introduced onboard photography, and second, it’s the centenary of the first-ever round-the-world voyage on their ship, Laconia.

The Sea Views Exhibition is a treasure trove of images from Cunard’s archives and photos submitted by past and present guests. You can find it online at www.Cunard.com/seaviews.

The digital exhibition features never-before-seen photos of Hollywood celebs and precious moments of guests throughout the years, capturing the ever-changing styles in fashion, food, and interior design since the 1920s.

You’ll see some of the most glamorous and famous guests, like Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Bing Crosby, and Nelson Mandela, in some amazing archival gems.

Over a thousand personal highlights were submitted by Cunard passengers from all over the world, telling magical stories from the 1920s to today. One such story is from Barry Robins, who shared a picture of himself and his sister aboard the Queen Mary in 1964 as they immigrated to the U.S.

Mary McCartney loved curating the exhibition and discovering never-before-seen photographs that capture the essence of Cunard’s signature moments. She was amazed by the strong sense of community and connection Cunard has fostered throughout the years.

Some other images you’ll find in the exhibition include troops walking onboard in Sydney during WWII, Nelson Mandela sailing on the Queen Elizabeth 2, Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Mike Todd, Bing Crosby chatting with photographers, and Sir Winston Churchill operating the controls with a cigar in hand.
