Azamara, the upmarket cruise line known for its Destination Immersion experiences, celebrated the arrival of its latest ship, Azamara Onward, with a plaque exchanging ceremony on December 12 in Miami. The event was attended by local government officials, PortMiami leadership team, and Azamara’s shoreside team, and marked the debut of Azamara Onward at the state-of-the-art PortMiami terminal.
Established in Miami in 2007, Azamara is now headquartered in the heart of the Coconut Grove neighborhood, and has a team of over 150 shoreside employees. In May 2023, the company launched its fourth ship, Azamara Onward, in Monte Carlo, which includes the exclusive Atlas Bar, refreshed accommodations, and new onboard entertainment options.
Following the plaque exchanging ceremony, attendees were treated to a toast at Azamara Onward’s Atlas Bar, where they sipped on destination-inspired cocktails and enjoyed light bites.
“As a newly independent company, we have seen tremendous growth in Miami and beyond, and we look forward to what’s to come for Azamara,” said Carol Cabezas, President of Azamara.
After its arrival in Miami, Azamara Onward will embark on back-to-back Caribbean voyages, and will make its debut in Central and South America in January 2023. The ship will return to Florida in 2024 for its inaugural 155-night World Voyage, visiting over 40 countries with 22 overnight stays and 27 late nights in port.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava welcomed the latest addition to the Azamara fleet, stating, “We are ready to welcome Azamara’s guests from all over the world as they embark on their dream vacations.”
