Crystal Cruises, known for its ultra-luxury cruise experiences, has teamed up with the renowned Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to build two new luxury ships.

These new ships, each designed to carry 690 passengers and weighing in at 61,800 gross tons, will be all about comfort and luxury. Leading the design are Studio Ibsen, directed by Prof. and Architect Adriana Granato, and Studio Gem, led by Naval Architect Giacomo Mortola and Naval Engineer Lorenzo Mortola, with another international design firm joining soon. Expect interiors decked out with beautiful marbles, Italian fabrics, and natural materials, making you feel like you’re staying in a posh private residence.

A standout feature is the promenade that wraps around the entire ship, perfect for those leisurely strolls with ocean views. Foodies will be thrilled with a range of dining options, including Umi Uma, the only Nobu restaurant at sea, and the newly announced Beefbar. Crystal will also continue its tradition of exclusive entertainment and an elegant casino with a variety of gaming options.

Wellness and relaxation are key on these new ships, with a full-service spa and a state-of-the-art fitness center for all guests. Families will love the dedicated kids’ area, designed to keep the little ones entertained and safe.

Accommodations will be all-suite with private verandas, including a special single occupancy category for solo travelers. Plus, with one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in the industry, guests can expect personalized service and attention to every detail.

The first of these ships is set to launch in spring 2028, with the second ship’s timeline to be announced later. This move comes after A&K Travel Group took over Crystal in 2022, kicking off a new era for the cruise line. Under A&K’s leadership, Crystal has been upping its game both on and off the water, expanding its fleet to offer guests incredible experiences.

There’s also an option for a third sister ship, which could be ready by 2032. Crystal Cruises is clearly on a mission to keep raising the bar in the world of luxury cruising, promising guests unmatched service and sophistication.
