Today marks a milestone accomplishment for my wife and me as we celebrate our 100th day at sea on Disney Cruise Line. They really go all out for you too. I’ll touch on that more later! But, today we’re making our third port of call today in Falmouth, Jamaica, on this seven-day Western sailing bright and early. This is another port I’ve been anticipating on this particular sailing. Even though this is our third time here, the first two were a little bit of a letdown.
The first was during the early stages of post-COVID cruises starting back up, and there were a lot of restrictions on what was available for excursions and what you could do on your own, which consisted of simply walking around the direct port shopping area.
On the second, we booked a private driver to take us around in hopes we’d get a personalized experience, but that ended up being a glorified and overpriced Uber driver, as all he was interested in doing was taking us to the same locations the other excursions went to.

Unfortunately, today was more of the same. This time, the island is still very much dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa in October. As the cruise lines are slowly returning to their Jamaican ports of call after a brief hiatus, the island is still in disarray. As we docked, you could still see dozens of buildings in the immediate area with blue tarps covering the roofs, and some roofs that were still destroyed, having barely the trusses remaining.
The ports in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios sustained slightly less damage than Falmouth and had begun accepting guests in late November, while Falmouth has only reopened in the past few weeks.

As our sail date approached, we kept an eye on how the recovery process was progressing and wondered if the itinerary for the sailing would be altered. Over the previous months, most Jamaican itineraries were swapped for a stop at Lookout Cay. In fact, this is only the second Disney sailing that has been able to return to Jamaica as they attempt to get the port reopened.
We were looking forward to doing the Adventure Falls and River Tubing excursion, as it seemed similar to one we really enjoyed when we visited Dominica in 2024. Melissa had other plans for that too, as one of the remnants she left behind was an outbreak of leptospirosis, a bacterial disease spread by contaminated water and soil. Areas that experienced floodwaters are particularly risky. On top of that, there were reports of a few cases of dengue fever popping up too.
That doesn’t sound too conducive to floating down a river.
With all that going on, we decided last week to cancel our river tubing, figuring it’s not worth worrying about. It just gives us an excuse to come back sometime in the future. We considered heading ashore for a little while just to walk around and do a little window shopping within the terminal, but ultimately the deck chairs on 13 were too appealing, and we ended up just making it a stationary sea day. It was also another good opportunity to get a few pictures around the ship with fewer guests.
Jamaica, I promise you one of these trips we’ll get to enjoy your splendor!
Relax mon
Temps were in the mid-70s with scattered clouds for our all ashore of 7:30 am to 4:45 pm. With the only other ship in port with us, the NC Prima, it was pretty quiet. The day was perfect regardless of whether you ventured ashore or remained onboard. It seemed about 50/50 in that regard, as we heard many other cruisers came to the same conclusions we did regarding the potential health risks, at least those that knew about it. As we talked with other guests throughout the day, I’d say only around half were aware of it. Anytime I peered over the railing down into the terminal center, it was almost deserted!

I was genuinely surprised that there were never any official warnings put out from the ship. Knowing how Disney takes safety risks very seriously, I’m going to assume they did their homework and determined that it wasn’t as big of a concern as it was made out to be in the news.
Knowing we didn’t have anything specific planned for the day, we had decided to use our credit at the spa from our Rainforest pass cancellation while in port. I went down to get my hot stone massage out of the way. To be honest, I would not have booked this if not to use that credit.
I’ll give the masseuse her due. She did a fine job and didn’t push additional products on me or try to upsell services. The massage was relaxing, but I could have gotten the same thing at home for less than half the price. There really isn’t anything “special” about the experience on the ship. It was in an interior room with no windows, low lighting, and soft music. It’s not like I was peering out a shaded window onto the open sea or anything.
The experience my wife and mother received was a bit different, though. They opted for facials and both had rather aggressive product sales pushed on them, which they declined. My wife took a picture of all the products she was being recommended and added it up, over $700! For products that, again, you can buy either online or at Sephora for a fraction of that price.
From there, the day was mostly spent kicking back on the Cove Deck reading, writing, and visiting with the Deck 13 gang.
Pools on Disney Treasure
While we’re on that topic, let’s take a look around the outer pool deck areas on decks 11, 12, 13, and 14.

One thing they have going for them is a lot of pools spread throughout multiple decks.
Starting on deck 11 midship, you have the center of the action with the Funnel Vision stage and no less than six pools with prime viewing on decks 11 and 12.
- Mickey’s Pool – deck 11
- Minnie’s Pool – deck 11
- Daisy’s Pool – deck 11.5
- Pluto’s Pool – deck 11.5
- Donald’s Pool – deck 12
- Goofy’s Pool – deck 12
Yes, Daisy and Pluto are technically on deck eleven and a half, as they are tiered going up the steps between decks 11 and 12. This gives plenty of options to splash around while still keeping an eye on whatever movie is playing.

As you can see, Mickey’s Pool can be covered to create more deck area for the stage and during dance parties. This is the center of all the action for families. There is a separate splash pad area, the Toy Story Splash Zone, with Trixie’s Falls wading pool located on deck 12 for smaller guests. Let’s not forget the Slide-a-saurus Rex for a little water slide action!
Did I miss something? Oh yeah, the signature AquaMouse! Hop in on deck 13 for an enclosed raft ride around the side of the ship, then through the funnel and back the other side.
Slide and splash through the zany stories of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse aboard AquaMouse. Complete with animated scenes and delightful special effects, this first-of-its-kind water ride will send you on a fun family adventure through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended high above the upper decks.
Your journey begins when you board your two-seater ride vehicle and ascend into a magical tunnel that teleports you into the whimsical worlds of two splash-tacular adventures!
Scuba Scramble
Mickey and Minnie are starting their very own seaside excursion company, aptly named “Port Misadventures,” on board the Disney Wish and the Disney Treasure. Join them on an undersea excursion to Mermaid Lagoon that’s filled with laughs and surprises. Along the way, you’ll encounter curious sea creatures, familiar Disney friends, and more than 60 water effects that bring the subaquatic silliness to life, all perfectly synced to an original musical score by Emmy-nominated composer Christopher Willis.
Swiss Meltdown
Mickey and Minnie invite you on a mountain sledding excursion that will inevitably, and hilariously, go awry on board the Disney Wish and the Disney Treasure. When the sun comes out and the snow begins to melt, you’ll be off on a frantic dash to the mountaintop while trying to avoid obstacles like avalanches, leaky rock walls, and waterfalls, oh boy!

Hungry? Quick Service and Buffet Options on Disney Treasure
For quick service and buffets, deck 11 is also the place you’ll want to get familiar with.
Starting behind Funnel Vision, you’ll find Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods. Here, you can choose between a variety of counters that have all those comfort food favorites:
- Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue – ribs, pulled pork, brisket, smoked sausage
- Daisy’s Pizza Pies – pizza by the slice
- Donald’s Cantina – tacos and burrito bowls
- The Lookout – specialty cocktails
- Minnie’s Delights – soft-serve ice cream
- Goofy’s Grill – burgers, hot dogs, fries
The ribs were solid, and the pulled pork was tender. The piece of brisket I had was a little tough, but to be fair, they really don’t have the logistics to properly smoke them long enough. They also have a selection of BBQ sauces on the side to choose from. Highly recommend sampling this counter.
Fighting for the title of most popular, though, were the pizza and burrito bowls. You couldn’t walk past either of those without seeing a line. Upon trying them, you’ll quickly realize why. This may be the best pool deck pizza I’ve had (Scott will be chiming in right about now about MSC). In fact, I ended up grabbing a few slices every day, even getting a few sideways looks from my wife as I climbed into bed a few nights with fresh slices of pie for a midnight snack.
If that’s not enough for you, head to deck 11 aft to Marceline Market. This is not a self-serve buffet like the Magic and Dream Class ships. Here, you’ll find themed counters with an array of options. Servers behind the counter will fill your plate as you desire, saving a few hundred hands from touching the serving utensils.
The selection is pretty similar to that from Cabanas on the Dream Class ships, and the only real difference is that you don’t serve yourself. Really, the only things of note here are that seating seems slightly more limited and the addition of POG juice to the beverage dispensers.
Let’s not breeze by that last one. I repeat, POG juice on the juice dispensers! For those of you wondering what a POG is, fret not. Passion fruit, orange, guava. This concoction originated in O’Hana at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort. There are some foods that have reached cult status in the Disney universe: Mickey pretzels, Dole Whip, Mickey bars, turkey legs, Mickey waffles, to name a few. POG juice has reached that status. Smooth and sweet, it’s a delicious blend for breakfast.
World of Marvel Dinner on Disney Treasure
Seated back in the World of Marvel dining room, we had top hats waiting for us at our table as we walked up along with a special New Year’s Eve menu instead of the Pirate Night Menu – a trade I’ll take any day!

The menu was a surf-and-turf delight, with the seafood sampler kicking things off. I passed on the lobster bisque, leaving room for my order of Chilean sea bass and porcini-crusted filet mignon. Sea bass is one of my favorites, and this held true to form. What can you say about filet mignon? Perfectly cooked medium rare, tender, with a wine sauce on the side.
The desserts were just as tempting, and it was hard to pass on the chocolate lava cake, but I opted for the roasted chestnut panna cotta instead. I should have gotten the lava cake. I was saved by also ordering a brownie cheesecake that was hiding on the kids’ menu.
After dinner, we had plenty of time to spare before the celebration, so we hit up a few games of trivia with friends, then spent some time in Scat Cat Lounge. This proved to not only be advantageous to staying awake past old-person bedtime but also a great way to enjoy good company and the many activities offered throughout the evening.
New Year’s Eve Party on Disney Treasure
In celebration of our 100th day at sea, Disney really went above and beyond in our honor. A dance party on the pool deck. Complimentary champagne and hors d’oeuvres for all guests. Even souvenir champagne flutes being passed around. All culminating in a fireworks celebration to end the evening. Wow! It seemed everyone onboard came up to the deck to celebrate with us. Now that’ll make you feel special!
Ok, so seriously, the New Year’s Eve festivities are hard to beat. Why stand in Times Square with a million other people in the cold when you can enjoy the warmth of the Caribbean Sea? Even the Symphony of the Seas decided to pull up nearby to watch OUR fireworks. What, you don’t have your own?
