Today marks a special day for Carnival Cruise Line as they officially welcome the newest addition to their fleet, the Carnival Luminosa. The ship was handed over from Costa Captain Nicolantonio Palombella to Carnival Captain Adriano Binacchi in a ceremony attended by leadership teams from both lines in Palermo, Italy. The moment was captured in a video by Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald.
“Carnival Luminosa is such an added benefit to our Fun Ship family with her unique itineraries and onboard specialties,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Combining favorites from our fleet and our wonderful crew with some of Luminosa’s own fun features, this ship will surely feel like home to our guests in no time.”
Starting November 6, 2022, Carnival Luminosa will debut from Brisbane, Australia, offering seasonal itineraries to guests until April 13, 2023. The ship will then reposition to Seattle to sail to Alaska, visiting some first-time destinations for Carnival. Carnival Luminosa is a sister ship to the four other Spirit-class ships and can accommodate up to 2,826 guests and 1,050 crew members.
Carnival Luminosa will feature a range of activities and experiences that guests have come to love on other Carnival ships, as well as some new spaces. Entertainment offerings include:
