Carnival Cruise Line is giving its guests a heads-up about a delay in the delivery of its new ship, Carnival Jubilee. The ship, which was previously slated for an October 2023 delivery date, has now been postponed to early December 2023 due to supply chain logistics and related matters at the shipyard, Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.

Carnival Jubilee will sail from Galveston, Texas on Dec. 23, 2023.

The first guest cruise will now depart on Dec. 23, 2023 from Galveston, Texas, making it a special Christmas holiday sailing. Unfortunately, the original Oct. 30, 2023 transatlantic journey from Southampton, UK to Galveston, and five Caribbean sailings from Galveston, have been cancelled as a result of the delay.

Guests and travel advisors have been notified of the changes and Carnival Cruise Line appreciates their understanding as they work to deliver another spectacular ship. “This is disappointing news, but with the notification from the shipyard, we are advising our guests as quickly as we can,” says Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line. “We appreciate their understanding as we work to deliver another spectacular ship that will provide a vacation experience our guests deserve and will absolutely love.”
