Carnival Cruise Line was a big winner at the recent Travel Weekly’s Readers’ Choice Awards, taking home top honors in four categories. The awards ceremony was held in New York City and was attended by Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy, Carnival Corporation President and CEO Josh Weinstein, Ken Tate, Carnival Cruise Line’s chief commercial officer, and Adolfo Perez, senior vice president of global sales and trade marketing.
Carnival was recognized as the Best Family Cruise Line, Best Group Program, Best Short Itinerary Program, and Best Domestic Cruise Line for the seventh year in a row. These awards are particularly special to the cruise line as they are voted on by Travel Weekly readers who have a deep understanding of the cruise industry.
Duffy expressed her excitement about the awards, saying “I’m elated that the work of our 40,000 employees is being recognized with these great distinctions. Our team members create the truly memorable experience our guests know and love on every sailing.”
In addition to the awards for the cruise line, Duffy also presented the Travel Weekly Lifetime Achievement Award to former Carnival Corporation President and CEO Arnold Donald.
As America’s Cruise Line, Carnival offers a wide range of itineraries, with sailings ranging from two to 16 days, and operates from more U.S. homeports than any other cruise line. The recognition as the Best Domestic Cruise Line speaks to Carnival’s convenient location, with half of the U.S. population within a five-hour drive to one of their homeports.
The Best Family Cruise Line award recognizes Carnival’s commitment to providing multi-generational fun, with offerings to meet the needs and interests of all ages, including the WaterWorks aqua parks and the Serenity adults-only retreats.
Recently, Carnival has received several top honors, including Best Mainstream Cruise Line by The Points Guy readers, “Most Trusted Cruise Line” by Reader’s Digest, and “Best Value for the Money” in Cruise Critic’s Editors’ Picks Awards.
