Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) is slowly starting to give us a peek at what we can expect to see onboard its newest cruise ship, Norwegian Bliss, when she makes her debut in June 2018. Some of the ship’s amenities were revealed this week during a travel event in Las Vegas, and like Sin City itself, some of what cruisers can experience onboard is over the top!
If you thought Royal Caribbean’s bumper cars on their Quantum-class cruise ships were an odd amenity to add, how do you feel about go-karts?
Passengers on Norwegian Bliss will get to zip around the top of the ship on a two-level go-kart track in nearly silent electric vehicles that top out at 30 mph. To give riders the true experience of a gas powered go-kart without the fumes and noise, engine sounds will be played via an onboard speaker system.
If go-karts aren’t your thing, you can head up to the ships open-air laser tag course where you can play a game of high tech tag in this area designed to resemble an abandoned space station.
Of course, no cruise ship is complete without an expansive pool area and Norwegian Bliss has that covered as well. The ship will have two pools, six infinity hot tubs that scale the side of the ship, two multi-story waterslides, the high-speed Ocean Loops free fall slide that loops out over the side of the ship, and the Aqua Racer tandem water slide that allows you to race side-by-side on inner tubes for more than 360 feet.
Kids will have their own Aqua Park complete with splash pads, water cannons, and smaller slides.
Bliss is a Breakaway Plus-class ship and sister to Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Joy. Norwegian Bliss will ply the waters of Alaska offering 7-night cruises from Seattle before heading to PortMiami in November 2018 to offer Eastern Caribbean cruises.
