Ahoy! Here's what's been happening in the cruise world today. Pull up a deck chair and dig in.

Act Like a Fool in Nassau, Prepare to Face the Consequences
Nassau just can’t catch a break. Or maybe it’s cruise passengers who can’t stop acting like fools. Either way, we’re back here again, and I’m starting to think the Bahamas Tourism Board should hand out a pamphlet at the gangway that simply says, “Please behave.”
According to The Tribune a cruise passenger planted himself in the middle of Bay Street – the main street in Nassau – and tried to stop traffic so a convoy of ATVs could pull out. Nobody asked him to. He wasn’t a cop, a crossing guard, or even a convincing guy in a reflective vest.

Refundable vs Nonrefundable Cruise Deposits: Is It Worth It?
You’re comparing two fares for the same cabin on the same sailing. One’s about $50 per person cheaper. The only catch is a few words in the fine print about the deposit. Most of us click the cheaper one and move on, because there’s no chance we’re going to cancel, right?
That’s exactly how a small savings turns into a big bill. Plans change. Work gets crazy, a travel partner drops out, a ship gets swapped, or a better deal shows up three weeks later. That’s the moment you find out what kind of deposit you actually put down, and it’s usually too late to do anything about it.

Queen Anne Leaves Cunard for P&O Cruises in 2029
Here’s the other half of today’s Carnival’s big ship swap news, and it’s a surprise. Cunard’s Queen Anne, the line’s first new ship in 14 years, will leave the fleet in 2029 and join sister brand P&O Cruises. It’s all part of a related move that sends P&O’s Arcadia to Holland America Line.
Queen Anne will keep sailing for Cunard through the end of her 2028 to 2029 world voyage. After that, she’ll go through an extensive reimagining, get a new name, and enter service with P&O in May 2029.

Holland America Adds Arcadia, Growing to 12 Ships in 2029
Big fleet news out of Seattle today. Holland America Line announced it’s adding a twelfth ship, and she’s a familiar face with a surprising connection to the brand. P&O Cruises’ Arcadia will move over to Holland America in 2029, bringing more than 2,000 additional guests of capacity to the fleet.
She’ll join the line’s four existing Vista Class ships: Oosterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam. Meanwhile, Cunard line is losing one of it’s four ships, the 3,000-passenger Queen Anne, which will go through extensive design changes in 2029, will move to the P&O fleet.
