From the moment I embarked on my maiden voyage aboard Royal Caribbean’s Sovereign of the Seas in 1994, I became enamored with the ocean. The magnificence of the sea and the once world’s largest ship, capable of hosting nearly 3,000 passengers, captivated me.
A lot has changed since then, with the emergence of colossal ships accommodating over twice the number of passengers as Sovereign did, but my enthusiasm for cruising remains strong. This is where I bring together my writings on the latest sea-bound innovations, video tours of staterooms, and day-by-day cruise reviews.
With over a decade of experience blogging about cruises, I’ve shared innumerable photos, dined at the finest (and worst) eateries onboard, and sailed on vessels ranging from luxurious to budget-friendly.
What can you expect to find on scottscruises.com?
Honest, Day-by-Day Cruise Reviews: My reviews are unbiased and aren’t influenced by any incentives provided by cruise lines. Even if I receive such benefits, my opinions are based on my genuine experiences, which I believe are fair and balanced. My no-holds-barred approach is infused with humor, sarcasm, and relatable “OMG what were they thinking” moments.
Curated Cruise News: With numerous sites offering cruise news, I carefully select and share stories that I find intriguing and believe you’ll enjoy as well.
Cruise Tips and Articles: My site is a go-to resource for answering your cruise-related queries. From identifying the best pizza on board to the least appealing buffet breakfasts, I strive to address the tough questions and share useful tips with you.
Cruise Photos: My extensive collection of thousands of photos includes snapshots of public spaces taken during port days, offering a sneak peek of the ship you might sail on in the future. And let’s not forget the all-important food photos taken before indulging in every meal.
Stateroom Tours and Cruise Videos: Staterooms on cruise ships can vary significantly. While one may have ample storage, another may lack sufficient space for shoes. Upon boarding, I immediately film a video tour of my stateroom before my luggage arrives. Additionally, I showcase other videos, both self-produced and from cruise lines, for your viewing pleasure.
A little background about me: I’m no novice when it comes to the online world. Back in 1994, I co-founded one of the earliest online pet supply stores. Indeed, the Internet was alive and well back then, though Amazon was merely a river and “yahoo” was an exclamation during a victorious round of bingo.
In 2001, I co-founded another company dedicated to assisting entrepreneurs in establishing their own eCommerce businesses, providing services such as online store development, Internet marketing, and customer support solutions.
Subsequently, in 2008 and 2009, I sold my companies to PetCo and Web.com, respectively. Nowadays, the convenience of remote work and onboard Internet access enables me to pursue my love for cruising while remaining active in the eCommerce sector. I currently serve as General Manager for Your Store WizardsYour Store Wizards, a website development agency based in Los Angeles.
