Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas is taking shape as she gets ready to make her debut in China starting June 2019.
The latest construction video from the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany shows the ship’s two huge – 200 ton – azipods being installed. Modern ships use azipods for propulsion and steering as opposed to a fixed position propeller.
The installation of Spectrum of the Seas azipods took a day and a half to complete. The propellers will be attached to the pods in February completing the installation of the ship’s propulsion system.
