Today, Royal Caribbean International’s highly anticipated ship, Wonder of the Seas, sets sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, ready to welcome its first guests on board the world’s largest cruise ship. This new and exciting adventure combines a mix of all-new adventures and Royal Caribbean favorites, designed to inspire wonder and awe in vacationers of all ages.
Wonder of the Seas will be sailing 7-night Caribbean cruises through April 2022, before heading to the Mediterranean for a summer season in Barcelona and Rome. The ship offers a unique experience, with eight distinct neighborhoods, each providing a diverse and innovative lineup of thrilling experiences. From exclusive restaurants and bars, to breathtaking entertainment, this ship has it all.
One of the most exciting new features of the ship is the Suite Neighborhood, which welcomes guests in the Royal Suite Class to a private Sun Deck with a plunge pool and bar. Other highlights include the Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar, which offers Southern comfort food with a creative twist, and the Wonder Playscape, a family-friendly underwater-themed play area with slides, climbing walls, and interactive games.
For thrill-seekers, the ship offers popular experiences like the FlowRider surf simulator, the Ultimate Abyss slide, and a 10-story-high zip line. Meanwhile, families will love the Caribbean Pool Deck, which features a new cantilevered Vue Bar, a mini golf course, and the kids’ aqua park, Splashaway Bay. The ship also offers a wide range of entertainment, including original performances across four “stages” – air, ice, water, and theater.
Wonder of the Seas’ Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises include visits to the private destinations of Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas and Labadee, Haiti, as well as stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Roatan, Honduras; and Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico. In the summer, the ship will sail 7-night Western Mediterranean cruises to destinations in Italy, Spain, and France. After a successful Europe season, the ship will return to Cape Canaveral, Florida, offering year-round Caribbean adventures.
