Today we are on cruise control. With it being the final day of our sailing, we have a day at sea to do as much—or as little—as we please. With calm seas and the proximity of our final destination back at Port Everglades, the captain has us at a slow drift, almost making it feel like we’re not even moving.

Since I’m an early riser and the family enjoys sleeping in, I made my way up to the Concierge Lounge for a coffee and pastry, then headed to the sun deck to watch the sunrise and enjoy the peacefulness of the morning.

This was the perfect time to scroll through the Disney Navigator app and “favorite” all the activities I think I’ll do throughout the day—which I will inevitably later decide aren’t worth leaving my comfy lounger for!

With plenty to choose from, I picked a few of my favorites:

  • Art of the Show Walking Tour
  • Jack-Jack’s Diaper Dash
  • Captain America: New World Order

Art of the Show is an adults-only guided tour around the ship, exploring the artwork and Disney theming throughout—plus the inspiration behind the Imagineers’ selections. It’s a great opportunity, even for the eagle-eyed Disney enthusiast, to get an insider’s look at the thought and detail that goes into even the most subtle features—right down to the carpeting and light fixtures.

Jack-Jack’s Diaper Dash is always a good time because you never know what’s going to happen. Taking place in the main atrium, parents pit their diapered little ones against each other in a Thunderdome, winner-takes-all battle royale to the death! Okay, not really—but judging by how competitive some of the “adults” get, you’d think it was. Youth club counselors roll out a carpeted race track while one parent stands at the start with their precious cargo, and the other waits at the finish line about 10 feet away—usually waving a favorite stuffed animal like a beacon of hope.

On your mark. Get set. Go! Or… sit there and stare blankly at Mom. Maybe wander over to another kid’s parent and consider an upgrade. Or just take off down the track. You never know. That unpredictability is what makes this such a fun event for spectators. It’s common for all three levels of the atrium to be lined 2–3 people deep along the railings to get a good view of the action.

I had skipped the earlier showings of Captain America and figured if the weather turned cloudy or breezy, I’d spend the afternoon in the theater. (That didn’t happen—so I’ll just wait to catch it on Disney+ in a few months.)

As expected, though, each time a reminder popped up for one of my scheduled activities, I chose instead to remain on the sun deck and soak up the beautiful weather and serenity of the day.

What Can You Expect with Concierge Level Access on a Disney Cruise?

The Disney Dream spent time in dry dock following its European season in the fall of 2024. A focal point of the renovation centered around enhancing Concierge-level amenities, including a remodel of the Concierge Lounge with a new Hercules theme; expanding the Concierge sun deck; adding 24 staterooms—located midship on Deck 10—to the Concierge category; and transforming the midship funnel (previously home to the tween club Edge) into a two-story Dream Tower Suite.

The updated staterooms are equipped with the standard queen bed, queen sofa sleeper, and ceiling pull-down bunk, but now feature refinished woodwork and upgraded carpeting. They include complimentary bathrobes and slippers, along with a stocked soft drink fridge. If you need the fridge restocked, just let your room steward or Concierge hosts know and they’ll take care of it for you.

The lounge is absolutely stunning, and the staff is always on point to assist with all your needs. Upon entering, you’re greeted warmly and always referred to by name—I suspect that when you scan your key card for access, it prompts their screen to show who’s coming in. If there’s anything you need to make your stay more enjoyable, they’ll do whatever they can to see to it.

The bar is staffed throughout the day, and happy hour is served each evening between 5:00–10:00 p.m., offering complimentary cocktails—perfect as a dinner or show precursor. There are espresso machines with plenty of syrups to make just about any specialty latte you can Dream of (see what I did there?). Behind the bar, you’ll find a snack buffet that’s refreshed throughout the day with all kinds of delicious hors d’oeuvres and treats.

Daily offerings in the lounge include:

  • Continental Breakfast: 7:00–10:30 a.m.
  • Lunch Snacks: 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
  • Afternoon Offerings: 2:30–4:30 p.m.
  • Dinner Snacks: 5:00–8:30 p.m.
  • Dessert Offerings: 9:00–10:00 p.m.

Two beverage coolers are also available, fully stocked with bottled water, soft drinks, juices, and milk.

Throughout the cruise, I’ve referenced the sun deck—so let’s take a little tour of that, shall we? Accessed either through the Concierge Lounge or the Satellite Falls adult area on Deck 13, the sun deck offers a plethora of lounge chairs, sofas, canopied daybeds, and chairs to choose from. With both shaded and open-air options, you won’t have to worry about finding a comfortable spot. There’s a beverage cooler as well, so you won’t have to go far to grab a refreshment, plus a small bar that’s open on sea days for those adult concoctions.

Another nice touch is the placement of sunscreen stations around the deck, in case you need to reapply. You can even enjoy a dip in the hot tub—as we all know, Scott loves to do while cruising!

I have to admit, the majority of my cruise was spent up here—either reading or updating the posts you’ve been following these past few days. That’s what I love about cruising: there’s never a shortage of activities, but if all you want to do is lay back and watch the sea go by, nothing is stopping you.

While these two locations are the big-ticket aspects of Concierge life, it’s all the smaller amenities that really make the trip feel special. We all know how important a great pillow is when traveling, right? We’ve gotten to the point in recent years that we never leave home without our own. Well—how about a pillow menu to choose from once onboard? Side sleeper, memory foam, snore reducer… these are just a few of the options your room steward can provide!

Want to get that prime seat for the featured entertainment in the Walt Disney Theater? Head up to the Concierge Lounge and you’ll get a private escort to the theater before the main doors open. They even have buckets of popcorn waiting for you as you enter!

We also got an exclusive visit from Goofy on our sea day—plenty of photo ops and autographs for everyone!

On the last evening of our voyage, we received a thank-you gift along with our luggage tags and debarkation information. BOOOOOOO! Using a first-on, first-off mentality, we had the option to assemble in the Concierge Lounge for an escort to the atrium for debarkation. No waiting in long, disorganized lines for us! While I’m never in a hurry to leave the ship, it is a nice option to get a lightning lane exit and avoid standing in a mob of people trying to corral their kids while simultaneously shoving their luggage over and through you.

Here is a more complete list of what special offerings come with a concierge room:

While Disney always makes your time with them feel special, the Concierge touch takes it to another level. And it’s not just about the what’s—it’s the who’s. The Concierge hosts truly go out of their way to make you feel like royalty, and if there’s anything you need in your room, your stateroom host is ready to jump into action.

I hope this gives you a little peek into what the Concierge life has to offer. Tomorrow, I’ll post a review of the disembarkation process and exiting the port area, along with a final recap and rating of our adventure. If you’ve followed along this far, I hope you’ve enjoyed yourself—and thanks for checking in!
