After years of sailing from Miami, MSC Seascape is preparing for a new home in Galveston, Texas. Beginning November 9, 2025, the ship will launch a schedule of 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries every Sunday, bringing together MSC Cruises’ signature European flair with a Texan influence. This redeployment marks a significant step for MSC Cruises as it’s the first time it’s homeported a ship in Galveston.
At 170,400 gross tons and measuring more than 1,100 feet in length, MSC Seascape is among the largest ships in MSC’s fleet. She accommodates more than 5,100 guests and is staffed by a crew of over 2,200. Her design is part of the Seaside class, known for expansive outdoor spaces with plenty of sea views, and family-friendly attractions such as the ROBOTRON amusement ride, an XD cinema, and a Formula Racer simulator.
Now, as she transitions to Galveston, Seascape is more than just changing her homeport—she’s adapting her personality to reflect her new surroundings.

Entertainment Reimagined for Texas
MSC Cruises has announced several entertainment enhancements designed specifically for Galveston sailings. While Seascape will continue to feature full-scale productions and Broadway-style performances, new elements will create a Texas-inspired atmosphere at sea:
- Resident country music band performing throughout each voyage.
- The Big Texas Sailaway Party, complete with live country hits and line dancing.
- Line dance lessons, giving guests the chance to learn or brush up on their steps.
- Texas and U.S. sports shown on oversized screens around the ship.
- Dueling pianos in the Uptown Lounge, bringing a lively, interactive music option.
- Pop-up street theater with Texas-themed performances.
- Comedy acts featuring U.S.-based comedians.
Balancing out the Texan flair, Caribbean touches remain a part of the mix, such as steel drum performances poolside to highlight the ship’s tropical destinations.

Productions That Remain
Guests sailing from Galveston will still enjoy Seascape’s signature shows in the Forward Theatre, including:
- Imaginocean – an ocean-themed production with aerial acts.
- Dreamscape – a fantasy-driven performance of dance and circus artistry.
- In Concert – a rock classic spectacular.
- Premiere – a celebration of cinematic music.
- Shall We Dance – featuring Latin, ballroom, and contemporary dance.
- Love Blooms – a whimsical performance centered on a living garden.
The Le Cabaret Rouge lounge will also continue offering variety acts, live music, and late-night parties.

Western Caribbean from the Gulf
From Galveston, Seascape will sail week-long itineraries through the Western Caribbean, calling at ports such as Cozumel, Roatán, and Belize. For Texas cruisers, this means greater convenience and a new option to experience MSC’s European-style cruising without having to fly to Florida.
Galveston continues to grow as a cruise hub, and the arrival of MSC Seascape underscores MSC Cruises’ commitment to the North American market. By tailoring entertainment to highlight Texas culture while preserving the ship’s international atmosphere, MSC is ensuring that Seascape will feel both familiar and distinctive for her new audience.
Miami may be saying farewell, but Galveston is gaining a ship that is one of my favorites!
