MSC Cruises just pulled off a triple celebration at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, marking major milestones for three of their World Class ships.
Let’s talk about the star of the show first: MSC World America—the cruise line’s brand-new flagship. She’s been officially delivered to MSC Cruises and is heading across the Atlantic for her naming ceremony at the new MSC Cruise Terminal in PortMiami on April 9. And then… just a few days later… I’ll be sailing on her inaugural cruise on April 12! I’ll be onboard and ready to share all the details, from the new restaurants and bars to the state-of-the-art features and how this massive ship actually feels in person.
But that’s not all. While World America was getting the spotlight, MSC also held a coin ceremony for MSC World Asia, which will debut in the winter 2026-27 season sailing Mediterranean itineraries. And if that wasn’t enough, they also fired up the steel-cutting machine to kick off construction on their fourth World Class ship, now officially named MSC World Atlantic, that will sail from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean starting in late 2027.
World Class Evolution
If you’re not familiar with MSC’s World Class ships, they started with MSC World Europa, which debuted in 2022. These ships are huge, eco-forward, and packed with innovation. The names—World Europa, World America, World Asia, and World Atlantic—aren’t necessarily indicators of where they’ll sail, but rather a nod to MSC’s global reach.
MSC World America clocks in at 216,638 gross tons, stretches 1,094 feet long, and spans 22 decks. She’s got room for 6,762 guests, over 2,100 crew members, and offers an incredible 413,000+ square feet of public space.

What to Expect Onboard MSC World America
This ship was designed with the North American market in mind—think European flair mixed with American comfort. Here are just a few highlights I can’t wait to explore and share with you all:
- 19 dining venues, including the only Eataly restaurant at sea
- 18 bars and lounges, including brand-new concepts like All Stars Sports Bar and The Loft Comedy Club
- A brand-new outdoor family space called The Harbour, complete with:
- A ropes course
- A water park
- A playground
- A relaxing lounge area
- And Cliffhanger, the first over-water swing ride at sea!
- World Promenade, where you’ll find shops, dining, and one of the longest dry slides at sea
- World Galleria, a 3-level indoor promenade lined with bars, shops, and restaurants
- And for those splurging a bit? The largest MSC Yacht Club in the Caribbean, featuring a private sun deck, 24-hour butler service, and keycard-only access to luxury amenities

MSC World America Itineraries
After the naming ceremony in Miami on April 9, MSC World America kicks off her Caribbean season on April 12 (and I’ll be there for all of it!). She’ll alternate between:
7-night Eastern Caribbean cruises visiting:
- Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
- San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve
7-night Western Caribbean cruises visiting:
- Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico
- Isla de Roatan, Honduras
- Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve
I’ll be boarding MSC World America in just a couple weeks and reporting back with firsthand tips, photos, videos, and honest impressions. From embarkation in Miami to my stateroom, dining, entertainment, and those brand-new venues, I’ll be covering it all.
So, if you’re thinking about trying out MSC Cruises—or just curious how their newest ship stacks up—stay tuned. You won’t want to miss it!
