In a ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy earlier today, MSC Cruises took delivery of the 5,119 passenger ship that is set to call PortMiami home in just a few short weeks.  While she was handed over to the company today, she will be officially named during a ceremony in Miami on December 21, 2017.

With its condo-on-the-water type looks, MSC Seaside is sure to turn heads when she arrives.  “The Seaside Class of ships is designed to bring guests closer to the sea and to operate in sunny waters while continuing to push the boundaries of maritime and guest-centric technology,” according to MSC.

MSC Seaside will feature a water park with five water slides, 11 dining venues, a unique waterfront promenade, and the line’s signature Yacht Club – a ship-within-a-ship concept – where guests who stay in these upscale accommodations have access to a private lounge, pool, and other amenities.  (Tour the Yacht Club on MSC Divina.)

During today’s ceremony, MSC announced they have signed an agreement with Fincantieri to build two additional larger ships that will be part of the Seaside Evo-class.  These next-generation Seaside ships will carry 5,646 passengers, include a larger MSC Yacht Club, have an additional deck and will feature larger staterooms.

The first Seaside Evo-class ship will debut in 2021 followed by the second in 2023.  The next Seaside-class vessel, MSC Seaview, is under construction and will be delivered May 2018.

MSC Seaside will join MSC Divina in Miami will offer Caribbean sailings year round.

MSC Cruises currently sails 14 ships and has 11 on order through 2026.
