Carnival Cruise Line has announced new details about the latest addition to its fleet, Carnival Venezia, a ship that will have an Italian flair and will operate year-round from New York. Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, and Glenn Aprile, Director of New Build Product Development, held a virtual preview of the ship from Il Mulino, a renowned Italian restaurant in New York’s Greenwich Village.
Carnival Venezia offers guests a taste of Italy from the moment they step onboard. The ship’s atrium is modeled after Venice’s Piazza San Marco, and the elegant Teatro Rosso theater provides a stunning backdrop for popular Carnival entertainment and new programming. The outdoor spaces, including the Lido deck modeled after the Italian Riviera, boast Italian touches and first-in-fleet features such as a retractable roof so that the pool can still be enjoyed during colder months.
Carnival has planned many updates and new spaces on the ship, including mini-bars and American power outlets in the staterooms, a serenity area with lounging furniture, sun beds, and two whirlpools on the top deck, and Terrazza staterooms similar to Havana staterooms on other Carnival ships.
Terrazza staterooms include interior balconies, private patios with plush loungers, and access to Terrazza Carnevale, an outdoor terraced deck with two whirlpools, a bar, and lounging space. Guests staying in the 77 Terrazza staterooms also receive exclusive benefits such as a continental breakfast in the Carnevale Lounge, Terrazza-branded robes and towels, a special brunch with a Spritz or Mimosa on select sea days, and an exclusive sail-away event in Terrazza Carnevale with live music.
When it comes to dining and drinks, Carnival Venezia offers a range of signature restaurants and bars, including:
- Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse,
- Bonsai Sushi & Teppanyaki,
- Chef’s Table,
- Lido Marketplace,
- Seafood Shack,
- Pizzeria del Capitano,
- Piano Bar 88,
- Heroes Tribute Lounge,
- and many others.
The ship will also feature special Italian menu items throughout, such as:
- Gelato at Java Blue Café,
- Italian flavors and ingredients at Guy’s Burger Joint,
- Grilled Italian street food at La Strada Grill,
- Mexitalian fusion at Tomodoro,
- and three-course meals at Canal Grande and Marco Polo Restaurants.
In addition, a new specialty Italian restaurant is being created with more details to be announced soon. The ship’s bars and lounges, including Amari and Frizzante, will offer expertly crafted cocktails with Italian liqueurs and bitters, bubbly drinks, and more.
Carnival Venezia promises guests an unforgettable Italian experience on the high seas. Get ready to Eat, Drink and Enjoy the Flavors of Italy!
