The Icon Class represents the newest generation of Royal Caribbean ships – a series that began with Icon of the Seas, which debuted in 2024, followed by Star of the Seas, just a few months ago. These ships are known for their sheer size, design, and neighborhood concept that creates “mini-worlds” onboard. Each ship in the class includes eight themed neighborhoods ranging from quiet to high-energy entertainment zones.
Legend of the Seas will have signature features like the open-air Central Park filled with over 30,000 real plants, the Royal Promenade with its floor-to-ceiling ocean views, and the Instagram famous kinetic art sculpture known as The Pearl. Guests will also find favorites like the adults-only Hideaway Pool suspended 135 feet above the ocean, and the Surfside neighborhood designed entirely around families with kids.
Being built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, Legend of the Seas will stretch 1,196 feet in length, weigh in at 248,663 gross tons, and carry up to 5,610 guests (double occupancy) with 2,350 crew.
So let’s talk about the details Royal Caribbean teased today about what’s coming to Legend:
Dining: You Won’t Go Hungry. Really!
Legend will feature 28 dining options, the most of any Royal Caribbean ship to date. Two brand-new restaurants are joining the lineup:
- Royal Railway – Legend Station brings the immersive dining concept first introduced on Utopia of the Seas, this time taking guests on a five-course journey along the ancient Silk Routes. Combining storytelling, visuals, and food inspired by Marco Polo’s travels, it’s part dinner, part theater.
- Hollywoodland Supper Club will transport guests to the glamour of 20th-century cinema with live jazz, cocktails, and a multi-course dinner inspired by the golden age of Hollywood.
Guests will also find returning favorites like AquaDome Market, featuring five new global food stands and a juice bar; Surfside Eatery and Basecamp for casual family dining; and Chops Grille, Izumi, Hooked Seafood, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, and El Loco Fresh for a mix of specialty and complimentary dining.
Entertainment: Charlie, Meet Mr. Wonka
Royal Caribbean’s newest production show will make its debut at sea when Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes to life in the Royal Theater. Guests can expect the colorful sets, music, and storytelling that made the Broadway version a hit.
The AquaDome neighborhood will host water performances at the AquaTheater, featuring divers, aerialists, and even robotic (yes, robotic) performers. Meanwhile, the Absolute Zero ice arena will deliver new skating shows designed specifically for Legend.
Those looking for something to do after dinner and into the wee-hours of the morning will have over 20 bars and lounges to choose from, including Lou’s for live jazz, Dueling Pianos for crowd sing-alongs, 1400 Lobby Bar for craft cocktails, and the always-popular Lime & Coconut for poolside drinks and live music.

Water, Water, Everywhere
Legend will feature Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, with six slides and multiple thrill levels. The ones in your family who aren’t afraid of heights can test their courage on Crown’s Edge, a combination skywalk and zip line suspended 154 feet above the ocean.
For something a little more relaxing, there are seven pools across the ship, including the infinity-style Hideaway Pool, the swim-up Swim & Tonic bar, and Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea. Kids can make a splash at Splashaway Bay, while parents unwind at the nearby Water’s Edge Pool.
Families sailing with little ones will love Surfside, the neighborhood dedicated to young families, which will include a redesigned Playscape and a brand-new carousel.

Where Legend of the Seas Will Sail
Legend will begin her inaugural season in Europe with seven-night Western Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona and Rome (Civitavecchia). In November 2026, she’ll reposition to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for six- and eight-night Caribbean sailings visiting Aruba, Curaçao, and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Bookings are now open on Royal Caribbean’s website for those ready to experience the next evolution of the Icon Class.
