MSC Cruises has pulled the plug on sailings out of New York City after April 19, 2026. That’s when the MSC Meraviglia, which has been offering cruises to The Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Caribbean, will make its final departure from the Big Apple. The ship is set to sail to the Mediterranean for the summer before settling into its new home in Miami, Florida, starting in October 2026 for the Winter 2026/2027 season. If you had a cruise booked out of New York after that date, you’ve likely received the following email about your trip being canceled:

MSC Meraviglia will now sail from Miami, Florida during the Winter 2026/2027 season, offering 6- and 8-night cruises to the Caribbean and The Bahamas. Due to this change, we regret to inform you that your sailing from New York has been cancelled.

With the ship’s move to Miami, we will no longer offer sailings from New York. New itineraries will feature calls to coveted destinations, including Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve (Bahamas), Grand Turk (Turks and Caicos), Philipsburg (St. Maarten), Basseterre (St. Kitts), and many more.

We understand this change will require you to adjust your travel plans and make additional arrangements to continue with the vacation you had envisioned.

As a gesture of our sincere appreciation for your flexibility and continued loyalty, we are offering various options to rebook your holiday. Kindly note that the new itinerary will be available for sales starting Wednesday, August 6th due to the time required to update our systems. From that moment, you’ll be able to contact us and make changes to your booking.

MSC is offering the following options for those who had an impacted cruise booked:

  • Switch to an 8-Night MSC Meraviglia Cruise from Miami – Move your booking to an 8-night sailing from Miami in the same accommodation and same month as your original trip (Christmas and New Year’s Eve sailings are only available if your original dates included those holidays). You’ll get no change fees, the best available cruise fare, an extra night for free (just for the cruise fare, not additional services), and a $50 non-refundable per-person onboard credit (up to $100 per cabin).
  • Opt for a 6-Night MSC Meraviglia Cruise from Miami – If a shorter trip is more your speed, you can book a 6-night Miami sailing in the same accommodation and month as your original departure (same holiday rules apply). No change fees, the most affordable cruise fare, and a $100 non-refundable per-person onboard credit (up to $200 per cabin).
  • Pick Any 7-Night MSC Cruise from a U.S. Port – Switch to any 7-night MSC cruise from Miami, Port Canaveral, or Galveston in the same accommodation and month (holiday restrictions apply). No change fees and the best cruise fare available.
  • Grab a Future Cruise Credit –  MSC will issue a Future Cruise Credit for the full amount you paid, which you can use to book another sailing within one year from the issue date. The new cruise can sail anytime, even beyond that year.
  • Cancel for a Full Refund – If none of these fit your plans, you can cancel and get a full refund to your original payment method. Just make your choice by September 30, 2025, or MSC will automatically process the refund.

The end of New York sailings is a big shift for MSC fans in the Northeast who loved the ease of hopping on a cruise from NYC. Travelers will need to head to Florida or other U.S. ports for their MSC fix. While Miami’s a fantastic hub for Caribbean cruises, it might be a hassle for those who counted on New York’s accessibility.
