History of Margaritaville at Sea Paradise

Before we dive into the upgrades, let’s talk about Margaritaville at Sea Paradise. This ship has been sailing for quite some time—originally built in 1991, she’s been known by a few different names and has seen her fair share of ocean waves. Over the years, she’s been refurbished multiple times, most recently in 2022 when she became the very first ship in the Margaritaville at Sea fleet. With her home at the Port of Palm Beach, Paradise has been offering quick and easy Bahamas getaways, perfect for a weekend escape.

What’s New on Margaritaville at Sea Paradise?

Margaritaville at Sea is bringing some of the most beloved venues from its newer ship, Margaritaville at Sea Islander, over to Paradise—meaning guests will get an upgraded experience with new food, drinks, and entertainment. Here’s what to expect:

  • Hemisphere Dancer Craft Spirits – A cozy, leather-bound piano lounge that serves up expertly crafted cocktails. If you love a good bourbon, you’ll want to try the Mile High—a smoky Woodford Reserve Bourbon drink that’s already a fan favorite on Islander.
  • Far Side Sushi – Sushi lovers, rejoice! This bamboo-accented specialty restaurant will offer an array of inventive sushi rolls, small plates, ramen, and rice bowls—something for every taste and dietary preference.
  • Frank and Lola’s – If pizza is what you’re craving, you’ll be happy to know this pizzeria is now included as part of the buffet experience. Expect handcrafted pizzas with classic and seasonal specialty flavors.
  • License to Chill & 12 Volt Bar – The poolside bars are getting a facelift! License to Chill is transforming into a Key West-inspired beach bar with ping pong and billiards, while 12 Volt Bar is getting a menu refresh with all-new cocktails.
  • JWB Prime Steakhouse – This signature steakhouse is keeping its classic top-tier service and quality cuts, but with an upgraded menu, wine pairings, and seasonal specialties.

New Ports & Excursions

If you’ve sailed on Paradise before, you probably made the quick trip to Grand Bahama Island—but now, there’s another option! Starting in 2025, Paradise will add Nassau to its itineraries, opening up more adventure possibilities. And with that comes an exclusive new excursion:

  • Sail and Splash: Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau Excursion – Guests on Paradise will get priority access to this beachfront resort, including the Fins Up! Water Park. Think lazy rivers, slides, and plenty of space to relax by the sea—basically, an extended Margaritaville experience right on land.

Entertainment & Stateroom Enhancements

Expect new live entertainment across the ship, with a variety of acts popping up in different venues. Whether it’s music, comedy, or interactive performances, you’ll always find something going on. Staterooms are also getting some general enhancements to make them cozier and more in line with the tropical, laid-back Margaritaville aesthetic.

A Smoother Cruise Experience at the Port of Palm Beach

Nobody likes long lines and waiting around at the cruise terminal, so Margaritaville at Sea is teaming up with Port of Palm Beach to speed up the arrival and departure process. Here’s what’s changing:

  • Facial recognition technology for U.S. passport holders to expedite boarding and debarkation
  • New parking options, including self-parking and valet
  • Proven shorter wait times and earlier boarding so you can get to the fun faster

With all these improvements, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is proving that an older ship can still bring big fun. Whether you’re a longtime fan or considering your first short cruise getaway, these upgrades bring a whole new level of fun, food, and relaxation to the high seas.
