A few days ago, we shared the exciting news that Margaritaville at Sea was expanding its fleet with the acquisition of the Costa Fortuna. The ship, part of the Costa Cruises line, was confirmed as being sold and will leave the fleet in 2026 for a rebrand and refurbishment before joining the Margaritaville at Sea family. While many of us speculated what the new name might be—perhaps something beachy, breezy, and full of Parrothead flair—it looks like we’ve got our answer.
According to a recent trademark filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the next ship to join the Margaritaville at Sea fleet will more than likely be called… Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber.
The application for the new name was officially filed on April 7, 2025, by Margaritaville Enterprises, LLC, and as of now, it’s in the “awaiting examination” phase. While nothing is ever truly final until it’s painted on the hull, trademark filings like this are a strong indicator of what’s to come.
Margaritaville at Sea Expands Fleet with Acquisition of Costa Fortuna
So, what can we expect from the Beachcomber?
Based on the Costa Fortuna’s specs and the transformation we saw with the two other Margaritaville at Sea ships, Paradise and Islander, we can anticipate plenty of Jimmy Buffett-inspired fun, a refreshed décor full of tropical touches, and an emphasis on that laid-back, no-worries state of mind. This ship will also be significantly larger than the Paradise and slightly larger than the Islander which could mean new onboard venues, expanded entertainment, and maybe even a few surprises.
Whether you’re sipping boat drinks by the pool or dreaming of cheeseburgers in paradise, the Beachcomber is shaping up to be the perfect escape for those looking to cruise in island style.
Stay tuned—we’ll be keeping a close eye on developments as Margaritaville at Sea gets ready to welcome its newest addition next year.
