Regent Seven Seas Cruises raised the bar with luxury cruising when Seven Seas Explorer was launched in July 2016. Able to carry 750 passengers, she is considered one of the most luxurious cruise ships ever built with a price tag of $450 million.
Inside, passengers will find themselves being pampered in one of the ship’s 375 suites, each with a balcony, or for the lucky ones a 4,443 square foot Regent Suite that is home to a $150,000.00 Savoir No. 1 bed (the mattress itself cost a cool $90k). Oh, and speaking of the Regent Suite, it also features two bedrooms, a living room with a custom-made Steinway piano, a private spa with sauna and steam room and a garden.
Like the other ships in the Regent fleet, Seven Seas Explorer is all-inclusive – meaning drinks, food, and shore excursions are all included. Charges apply for other amenities such as the indulgent Canyon Ranch SpaClub.
Seven Seas Explorer’s main restaurant, Compass Rose, is home to 400 Versace place settings. Other dining options include the Prime 7 steakhouse, a French restaurant called Chartreuse, the Asian-inspired Pacific Rim and the ship’s casual buffet La Veranda.
This 6-star ship also features a casino and a Culinary Arts Kitchen where passengers can learn how to cook by taking hands-on lessons with the ship’s culinary experts.
While many of us will not get the opportunity to sail on Seven Seas Explorer, we can now get a glimpse into this floating resort and learn how she was built. On Thursday February 8, 2017, the PBS show NOVA will air a special “Ultimate Cruise Ship” episode at 9pm ET. Watch the trailer below and set your DVR, as this is one cruise special you don’t want to miss!
